About the Building

Building Description

Houston’s modernist Williams Tower, located at 2800 Post Oak Boulevard in the Uptown District, is a sixty-four story dark blue skyscraper.

The gleaming structure has the appearance of a classic skyscraper with a modern twist. The Tower was designed by John Burgee Architects, Phillip Johnson & Morris-Aubry Architects and opened in 1982. The building’s entrance is framed by a stone arch while the rest of building’s base is made of glass and steel. Inside, the lobby’s walls are covered with wooden paneling and the space’s floor is tiled with dark and pale granite.

The tower is the tallest structure in Uptown District and holds an LEED gold sustainability certification. Its tenants include the Hines, CBRE, the Rowan Companies & Citigroup.

Williams Tower is located near the I-610 & I-69 highways as well as adjacent to the Alabama Street bus stop. The building also offers a parking garage, cleaners, Amille’s Coffee and Murphy’s Deli.
