    Neighborhood

    Dupont Circle

The Dupont Circle neighborhood is centered around a famous traffic circle and fountain of the same name. The Dupont Circle Fountain was designed by Daniel Chester French and Henry Bacon, whose most recognizable work is the Lincoln Memorial, and is a favorite gathering spot for locals. Dupont Circle is located approximately two miles north of the National Mall and is bounded by 16th Street NW, 22nd Street NW, M Street NW, and Florida Avenue NW.

People living and working in Dupont Circle appreciate the strong sense of community that the neighborhood has maintained since the late 19th century. Brimming with history, greenery, and an artistic and intellectual sensibility, Dupont Circle is a preferred neighborhood for those seeking Class B office space close to Downtown D.C.’s Central Business District.

    Dupont Circle Neighborhood & History

Dupont Circle was mostly undeveloped until after the Civil War, and many of the neighborhood’s row houses and mansions were built before 1900. Before the fountain was built in 1920, the traffic circle used to hold a memorial statue of Civil War Admiral Samuel Francis Du Pont, which is where the neighborhood received its name. Sunny days are perfect for a picnic lunch at the Dupont Circle Fountain or on 22nd Street’s Spanish Steps.

Many restaurants line Connecticut Avenue, just a few minutes walk in either direction from the fountain. Our team enjoys grabbing lunch at Zorba’s Cafe, CAVA, Julia’s Empanadas, and Bethesda Bagels. For business lunches or wining-and-dining clients, reserve a table at Plume at the Jefferson Hotel, The Rigsby at Kimpton’s Carlyle Hotel, or Urbana at the Hotel Palomar.
