General Electric (GE) put Boston's Seaport District on the map in a big way when it announced in January 2016 it would be moving to its shores. An influx of 800 jobs and property tax revenues could be a major boon for the city. Other notable commercial tenants include Thomson Reuters, PwC and Harpoon Brewery. In addition to being very business-friendly, Boston's concentration of elite universities is said to be one of the factors in GE's decision. Other businesses would be wise to consider the city's mix of talent, tax incentives and affordable rent.
