I’m proud to announce that we’ve closed SquareFoot’s Series B round, led by DRW Venture Capital, with continued support from our awesome previous investors including RRE, Triangle Peak Partners, Rosecliff, EIP, ASV, and Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator. As always, we brought a few new senior strategic real estate groups to the table; continued votes of confidence from the industry are always nice to tell my wife about!
A fundraise isn’t a success in and of itself, but it’s validation that what we are doing is working and that the best is yet to come.
The past 18 months have been great. Not perfect—because nothing ever is—but great.
I’m humbled by the quality of the team we continue to build here, and I’m further humbled by the quality of work they do day-in and day-out to help solve commercial real estate for growing companies.
We’ve been busy… and productive.
In the past year and a half, we:
Solved office space needs for another several hundred happy clients.
Built out a second office in Belfast to expand our product, development, and marketing teams.
Acquired PivotDesk to bring flexibility to our clients who have excess space for their growth plans (think Airbnb for office space).
Launched FLEX by SquareFoot to bring flexibility to our clients who want shorter-term leases than the traditional world offers.
Found and moved into a new office in NYC for ourselves 🙂
So what’s next?
We have 3 main goals:
New markets — what we’re doing here in NYC works. And we’ve done transactions in most of the top 20 markets already. We’re looking forward to planting flags more formally and taking our show on the road. We’re hiring, so please reach out to us: firstname.lastname@example.org!
Continued expansion of flexible offerings — responding to continued interest on behalf of our clients and after “reading the tea leaves” with everything that we are seeing on our platform, we’ll continue to expand FLEX by SquareFoot to bring lease flexibility to our clients. This, coupled with our recent acquisition of PivotDesk, allows us to continue to cement ourselves as the go-to destination for growing companies to solve their real estate needs.
Further innovation on the tech and product side to continue to make our clients’ (leasing) lives easier.
I read the other day that the second most stressful time for an entrepreneur is going into a financing round and the most stressful time is coming out of it. Feels pretty accurate.
That stress is there because of leveled-up goals, aspirations, and plans which we have in front of us – which I couldn’t be more excited to go after. SquareFoot’s Series B is just another step in the right direction.
